The Green County Humane Society is a no-kill animal shelter and rescue in Monroe, WI. The society cares for the strays in Green and Lafayette counties in southern Wisconsin. In 2005, we helped over 600 animals find new loving homes.
The GCHS is comprised of an estimated 800 members, dedicated shelter staff, volunteers, board of directors, and a growing network of foster homes. Our mission includes:
. Promoting compassionate and appropriate treatment of animals throughout Green and Lafayette Counties.
. Realizing the need to educate the general public in areas of animals' care, especially the need for spaying and neutering of animals to prevent further overpopulation.
. Diligently assisting law enforcement and the general public in the effort to end animal abuse.
. Devoted to the search for quality homes for every adoptable animal that comes into the shelter.
GCHS is dedicated to expanding the knowledge of and protection of animals we share our lives and world with.
